I would first like to say that while watching this video for the first time this morning I had chills. This video is NUTS.
The first 2.5 minutes is this sci-fi style origin story, and you may be skeptical at first of where this video is going. I mean, there are mucusy Gaga heads coming out of her vag. BUT I am loving the music that plays in the background while she is narrating...definitely has an epic movie music vibe. I also love the Gaga with gun imagery.
Then she comes out with the Haus of Gage in her bikini, horns adorning her head, of course. She looks so tiny and vulnerable but Gaga looks really beautiful here. Then they dance...and I freaking LOVE this dance. I don't know what it is, but when I saw her dancing at the Grammy's I just loved it.
THEN there are these scenes that interweave throughout the video of her in skeleton makeup, wearing a suit, with that FANTASTIC high, pink ponytail, dancing around a guy also in a suit and skeleton makeup. Genius. LOVE. IT.
The whole thing ends with these great images of her on a sparkling unicorn and an image of her dressed as the skeleton blowing a pink bubble gum bubble.
I just absolutely adore her in this. Her creativity and creative team goes above and beyond. She includes really great imagery to convey the message of the song in a very abstract way. I'm glad she chose to create a strange, beautiful new world to show that no matter who you are you were born this way. I also think the horns are a great way of showing this and really sticking to one original concept.
And now all those haters that keep saying this is a ripoff of Madonna can suck it!
