What is this, a PF Changs?

The Hangover Part II trailer is here! It is basically the exact same movie but in Thailand...and I'm perfectly okay with that. I think using the same premise is a smart move. Usually, a good sequel to me is seeing the same characters you love acting the same, as though they are just continuing on the first movie.
And at first I thought this looks funny but not hilarious, but I thought about it more and that is the same thing I thought about the original Hangover trailer. So all in all, I am super stoked to see this.

Infect me with your love and fill me with your poison.

Katy Perry's video for "E.T." debuted today. I really like this song but the video they made for it is absurd. It gets pretty boring watching Katy oddly float around in space dressed like an "alien." And even though Katy looks awesome when she lands in that rubble, besides the deer legs, the whole second half of the video feels like a complete rip-off of Wall-E and Watchmen. Also, if they are going to go full alien for Katy they should've done the same for Kanye. He looks super out of place. I don't know. There is just a whole lot more potential for an alien-themed song and this comes up short.

I'm done with the office, hello, forest.

The Strokes performed a song I hadn't heard yet, "You're So Right," on Jimmy Fallon last night. So awesome. I love it...I am also loving how they drained the color around the album and then went into a black and white performance. Nice touch.

It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside.

While James Durbin had the best performance of the night, Casey Abrams definitely had the best song. He totally redeemed himself tonight...loved his version of "Your Song."

Cha-ching.

I cannot believe I've never seen this before. Honestly. How have they not pulled this out and played the entire thing when Seth Green was on a talk show or something? I mean, this is GOLD. "Cha-ching" may have been his catchphrase but those are also the words I yelled out when I found this video. That hair, his enthusiasm for his new found fame, that ridiculously large coat, the amount of times he actually busts out "cha-ching." I really love how shameless he is about using his celebrity to get free swag. I mean, it really is a pity Seth Green never went on to do anything else after this...

They shut down the factory when they created Zachary.

This is the most absurd/narcissistic/greatest homemade music video I've ever seen. But I had to sit and watch the whole thing. And I gotta hand it to Zack, he's got some sweet editing skills. I especially love the Robert Palmer homage. There are just lots of questions that arise while watching this. Like, are these girls his friends or did he pay them? Who is that skinny, white, Jewish rapper that just appears and spits rhymes about how rad Zachary is? Did Zack make this just to show at his Bar Mitzvah? God, I hope so...and I hope he entered that party wearing shades while this song was playing in the background. In all honesty, though, this is a thousand times better than Rebecca Black.

Never gonna give you up.

I honestly can't believe this trailer exists. This has SERIOUSLY gotten out of hand.

They don't love you like I love you.

I've been listening to Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Fever To Tell today. LOVE this song. Love the guitar at the beginning and the end. Love Karen O in this...she was a big idol of mine in high school.

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand.

Really?! Each time they release a preview for MTV's Teen Wolf it infuriates me more and more. I know this show appeals to people younger than myself who have never seen the original Teen Wolf, but as someone who knows and loves the Michael J. Fox version (the only version, if you ask me) this is a slap in the face. Stop riding on Twilight's crappy coattails and come up with something original.

Every time I try to fly I fall, without my wings I feel so small.

I know that Britney's performance on Good Morning America yesterday morning made it look like she may have been lobotomized, but I don't feel like hopping on the Britney bashing bandwagon. We all know how she did, I won't draw more attention to it. I also won't go on and on about how outrageously expensive her concert tickets are. I will say that "'Till the World Ends" is an awesome dance song. And I will say that no matter how far Britney has fallen, I will always claim to be a fan.
Seeing Britney's performance didn't make me want to spew criticism, it just made me sad. I just want to shake her and yell "stop holding back, we know you can dance!" Every time I see Britney it looks like there is a lot of pain and insecurity inside her. I miss the old goofy, energetic, professional, exciting Britney. But people change and we all know she's been through a hell of a lot. Britney will always remain epic in my eyes.
Here are some of my fav Britney moments:

Probably my favorite Brit song...definitely the one I listen to the most. And I always loved this video. Plus, I just found out it was directed by the amazing David LaChapelle.

I distinctly remember seeing the debut of this commercial...it was a big deal. Pretty sure I taped it.

Not her finest moment but this just always makes me laugh. She is...ridiculous. I LOVE goofy Britney. Watching this now, it reminds me of David After Dentist...

Britney's MTV Diary used to be one of my favorite things to watch. I had it taped on VHS and watched it all the time. She was just so goofy and cute, I just wanted to hang out with her. Man, MTV used to have some quality shows.

Um...this is priceless. I used to love the Mickey Mouse Club and Justin's rapping skills are top notch here. And how cute is it that they are singing together? Really though, Britney could SING when she was little.

Britney and Clarissa host TRL! Holy shiz, a 90s dream!

The only reason I watched the Super Bowl that year. They don't make halftime shows like they used to.

Britney's Live From Las Vegas concert special was a huge deal. I remember it playing on HBO and being so excited to watch. I totally have that on a VHS tape, too. This was right before I saw her perform in St. Louis when I was fifteen. This was when she put a lot of effort into her shows and really got into her dancing. Plus, the end of this video is what inspired her iconic Madame Tussaud wax figure.

Anyways, Britney, I love you. Thanks for all the songs and laughs and VHS tapes.

Around the world.

One of the greatest music videos ever created.
This video came out when I was in fifth grade and I would wait for it to come on TV. Lucky for me, I can watch it on TV whenever I want thanks to my Michel Gondry Director's Cut DVD.
I have basically made it one of my lifelong goals to see Daft Punk in concert...too bad they are constantly ruining this for me by NEVER TOURING.

You're out of your element.

Tara Reid crapping on the best movie she's ever been in. Have to say though this is the most entertaining she's been in awhile.

And the sun goes down, I walk into the waves.

Perez Hilton blogged earlier that Hole had reunited at MOMA in NYC for the premiere of Hit So Hard, a documentary about drummer Patty Schemel. All the members of Hole make appearances in the film so I will definitely have to check that out.
As crazy as Courtney Love is, I will always have a soft spot for her. Celebrity Skin is pretty high on the list of albums that have really meant something to me. I remember hearing it for the first time in middle school and just really, really loving it. I got that album and listened to it over and over, and even after I owned it I would go directly to the music section at the bookstore near my house and just play it in the demo area with the headphones on while my mom shopped. I thought Courtney was exciting and different and I would try to adopt some of her character in my own way. Celebrity Skin was just so great because it was a softer side of the band...they still had that raw edge but it was approachable. To this day I have my copy of Celebrity Skin in my car at all times and I probably listen to "Malibu" at least a couple times a month. It is one of my all time favorite songs.
So seeing the band together brings back a rush of memories. I thank Hole for creating Celebrity Skin and being a big part of my life, really. I grew up to those songs. And really the craziest thing is that when I was thirteen most of my obsessions were bands, books and movies that spoke about or romanticized California. Hole, No Doubt, Clueless, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slums of Beverly Hills, Foo Fighters, The Craft, Weetzie Bat and the whole Dangerous Angels series are some of those that played a big role in my pre-teen/early teen years. In a time when I felt somewhat out of place in my surroundings, California seemed like this magical place in a whole other world. So now that my dream of reaching California is becoming a reality, I do look back and think how happy my little thirteen-year-old self would be to see that I am just going for it. "Malibu" reminds me of all of that and is still an incredibly magical song to me today.

I was thinking how nothing lasts, and what a shame that is.

Kees van Dijkhuizen puts together these great director video compilations for his "[the films of]" series. Lucky for me he has chosen to pay tribute to two of my fav directors, Sofia Coppola and David Fincher.
I just love how the clips flow from movie to movie so effortlessly. Also, there is great attention to detail in the way he finds similarity between clips and his use of particular shots and cuts to go with the beat of the music.
I just love a great cinematic compilation video and these are beautifully done.

Darn this stuff.

One of my all time favorite movies is turning 20 years old.
Beginning April 16th, Gallery Nucleus is having an exhibition devoted to the 20th Anniversary of Edward Scissorhands. Over 40 artists have created pieces to honor the fantastically creative film.
I'm loving the little details of the exhibition. There will be an Avon lady handing out samples and the gallery will be serving ambrosia salad. Genius.

And to add to the absurdity, this second video was brought to my attention this weekend...

One of the worst trailers I've seen in awhile...terrible editing, terrible quality, and 50 Cent is in it...

Terry Richardson.

Married?! Noooooooo.

Rest in peace, Elizabeth Taylor. I hope you're having a fabulous party with Michael Jackson and Andy Warhol.

I'm an over acheiver, so how 'bout I start a team of leaders and pick up Stevie Wonder to be the wide receiver.

Awesome video from Tyler the Creator, part of OFWGKTA or Odd Future. This video reminds me of Mark Romanek's black and white style with a little mix of Chris Cunningham. Awesome, original style.

And my clique make that dinero so it's time to meet the Fockers.

So I have been pretty much obsessed with Donald Glover lately. The best thing about being obsessed with Donald Glover is that he pretty much does everything, so whether you want to watch hilarious videos, listen to super clever hip hop, watch the best show on television, read numerous amounts of tweets, or read a super rad blog, he's one of the best.

Of course, above everything else, my favorite Donald Glover project is his role as Troy on Community, whiiiiich just got picked up for a third season. And I will say it again, Troy and Abed are pretty much the greatest thing on television right now. And if you aren't watching Community religiously, then you are a dummy. Just kidding. But not really.

Though I've been following him on Twitter for a little while now, I recently just discovered his blog, iamdonald. His blog covers everything from music to sex to fashion to food.

He also raps as Childish Gambino. There are links on his blog where you can download his albums for free, which I highly recommend doing because his songs are pretty awesome. The lyrics are flooded with clever pop culture references...definitely some of the best hip hop lyrics I've heard.

Here's a hilarious video of Donald on Conan...

What really brought me to posting about all of this was that I just saw on the LA Weekly list of concerts that he will be bringing his IAMDONALD Tour to LA just two days after my birthday...soooo I am pretty stoked.

And if you haven't seen his movie Mystery Team from his original comedy team, Derrick Comedy, watch the trailer or just go out and rent it or watch it on Netflix instant watch right now. Like everything else...it's beyond hilarious.

A love like ours is terrible news.

How have I not seen this until now?!

And I can tell just what you want, you don't want to be alone.

Just discovered the band Two Door Cinema Club while watching the MTV Woodies. I probably wouldn't have even watched the Woodies had Donald Glover not been hosting the show, but because he was I most certainly had to DVR that shiz. I'll watch anything that he's in.
Anyways, this band's pretty cool. Sound like a cross between Hot Chip and Vampire Weekend.

There's parts in this video that remind me of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. If you love that movie like I do, you know what I'm talking about.

Sad Song.

The Cars are back! Yes!

Get the London look...thanks, but no thanks.

Um...excuse me but what has Rimmel London done to my beloved Zooey's face?!?!
Yes, that is Zooey Deschanel in her newest Rimmel London ad. And yes, they have photoshopped the crap out of her face.
I mean, really. It tooootally makes perfect sense to take one of the most beautiful faces in Hollywood and make it look like some weird wax figure... and to sell makeup, no less.
Ridiculous.

One love, one heart.

With all that is going on in Japan right now, we could all reach out and help. Even just helping out in a small way can make a huge difference.

Here are just a couple of ways you can give your support right now:

Text REDCROSS to 90999

Your text is a $10 gift to the American Red Cross to support disaster relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific.

Lady Gaga has helped design an earthquake relief wristband that is available on her official store website. The band is $5 and all proceeds go towards Japan relief efforts.

RIPT, a website that showcases a new t-shirt design everyday, is featuring a t-shirt designed by an artist to help raise money for Japan. $5 of every shirt sold will be donated to the Red Cross, as well as every dollar the artist makes on this specific design.

My heart just really goes out to all of those affected by this terrible tragedy.

World's greatest extra.

This is nuts! I definitely need to be on the lookout now to spot this guy.

Sitch gets pwned by Snoop.

Ok. So I am always excited for a good Comedy Central roast, and last night's roast of Donald Trump did not disappoint. I would have to say the highlight (?) was The Situation. Now, if you watched it, I think you can agree with me that it was absolutely PAINFUL to watch. I mean...never before have I been so embarrassed for someone attempting to do comedy. But you know, I felt BAD for him. You know someone else had to help him write those jokes...way to throw him under the bus. I have a feeling that the only reason he was there was for this complete and utter failure to occur and drum up some attention, but I mean really. It was just beyond brutal. If you haven't seen it yet, watch and be prepared to cringe (sorry for the low quality video...pretty much all of the other ones are just chopped up clips). I mean, crickets, boos and appalled faces, the whole deal. The most priceless clip is when they cut to Ice-T...dude looks straight up disgusted.
Everyone else was pretty freaking funny but really the surprise of the night was how GOOD Snoop Dogg was. He was probably my favorite of the night. Looks like someone may be asked back yet again.

Gotta get down on Friday.

This is just hilarious.

I know who I want to take me home.

New Friends With Benefits trailer. Anyone else find it incredibly odd that both Natalie Portman's and Mila Kunis' first film post-Black Swan is pretty much the same exact same film? Regardless, I would much rather see this one over No Strings Attached. This movie actually looks pretty promising. It's also directed by the same guy who wrote/directed Easy A, so that's a plus. I love me some Mila Kunis and I love Justin Timberlake doing comedy. Also, Woody Harrelson. Question, though...why is Patricia Clarkson playing Mila's mom and not Justin's? Hello, "Mother Lover" SNL skit, anyone?

I cannot even begin to express my obsession with Troy "Butt Soup" Barnes & Abed Nadir. I have been deprived of new Community episodes lately so I have been watching my season one DVD...I just can't get enough.

Trouty mouth.

I really loved tonight's episode of Glee. I was skeptical about the original songs, but the practice songs were pretty hilarious and I loved the regionals songs...espeeeeecially the glitter slushies!
And of course Kurt and Blaine! I am also really liking the Santana/Brittany saga. I am obsessed with last episode's rendition of "Landslide"...it really was touching. Is it wrong that I secretly want Brittany to leave Artie? I liked him and Tina better together anyways.
I, however, am not on team Quinn/Finn. She needs to back off. Excuse me, Quinn, but weren't you the one who boned Puck while you were with Finn? Let him and Rachel be great. Thanks. I'm also not down with Mr. Schue/Holly Holiday. I mean seriously. I think she has overstayed her welcome. I love John Stamos and all but Mr. Schue and Emma need their chance to be together. Thanks for the great "Landslide" rendition, Holly, but we're done now.

I am beyond excited to see this. So so excited.

Hannah Montana's wearing my jeans.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD?!?!
This video is a slap in the face example of everything that is wrong with society. First, we were all introduced to the melodic tune "Friday" by Rebecca Black and now we have THIS atrocity.
Why do these girls have any type of music contract?! Why is that small child driving a mini cooper?! Why are these girls hanging out with anonymous rappers?! Who is hearing these girls singing and saying "yes, amazing, SIGN THEM"?!
AUTO-TUNING YOUR VOICE DOES NOT MAKE YOU A SINGER (for examples, see Kim Kardashian, Kim Zolciak, etc.).

I mean, I'm all for kids singing about kid things and not mature content. But showing them in this light, driving, going out, hanging out with rappers, and auto-tuning the crap out of their voices is not the way to do it.I feel bad for them, really. I mean what young girl wouldn't want to become a star? It's not their fault they're thrown into this rotten mess.
So a big thank you to these terrible tiny girl singers. Thanks for schooling me about jeans and the days of the week. Thank you for really touching on deep, deep issues and for not just stating the inane and insulting obvious. And a BIG thank you to the parents who encourage this nonsense and the record companies that exploit children and assume that everyone can be the next Miley or Justin, and for also putting children in the public eye only to be completely ridiculed and embarrassed when they become a trending topic on Twitter for how shitty their music is (See Rebecca Black).

P.S. Children do not have swag. Justin Bieber doesn't even have the "swag" he claims he has...Usher may, but he does not. And if the Biebs doesn't have swag, these little white girls do not have swag. So enough with the "swag", "swagger", or "gettin' your swag on". Thanks.

And here's an article/video from Perezhilton.com about the creepy Ark Music Factory, who are responsible for Rebecca Black. Thanks a lot, Ark Music Factory.

Get crazy get loud, let's party get loud.

Hahahaha! Oh my god...Snooki gets in the WWE Raw wrestling ring. Really though, I must say the acting here is top notch.

Well, well, well, if it isn't James Van Der Douche.

One of my new favorite music videos...amazing.

It's these cards and the movies and the pop songs.

Two new very awesome movie posters have been released. One for Hesher and one for Super (the Super poster featuring Rainn Wilson was previously released). I am just really loving these designs...always a fan of movie poster design that goes for a higher aesthetic rather than just focusing on the actors. Effective every time.

Oddly enough, both movies star Rainn Wilson. You can watch the Super trailer and a clip from Hesher below. And let me also just say that I LOVE the graphics they used in the Super trailer. Awesome.

Ten decisions shape your life, you'll be aware of five about...

I saw Sofia Coppola's newest film Somewhere today. Now, I will start by saying that I am a HUGE Sofia Coppola fan. I find her film style to just really strike a personal chord, as though she is making movies just for girls like me. Her films also just have a really calming sense to them. I feel like we're friends.

At first, I was a little hesitant to say that I loved this. It definitely did not surpass nor live up to my number one Sofia love, Lost In Translation. But really, what would? Somewhere was actually much slower paced, so if you don't like Lost In Translation you probably won't like this.

However, this was the perfect companion piece to Lost In Translation. It is a similar story, following an actor that seems to be very removed and simply going through the motions. Then someone comes along who makes them see things differently and feel something for what seems to be the first time in quite a long time. Both show a character that seems so absent in one of the busiest cities in the world. Sofia again gives us a simple story presented in beautiful shots and excellent detail.

What really made me love the film was Elle Fanning. Her performance seemed completely natural and every time she smiled, I smiled. Her childlike innocence and basically unjaded view of the world was completely infectious.
I also have to say that I love this film because it has stuck with me all day long. I keep replaying scenes and images in my head. I am also completely obsessed with The Strokes song, "I'll Try Anything Once," from the trailer... I'm playing it on repeat as I type here.
I know Sofia Coppola's films are not for everyone, but if you are a fan of her previous work this is a must-see. All I know is that I was completely in love from the moment I watched The Virgin Suicides in middle school and I have never lost that feeling about her films. Even though there is usually dark material at hand, she always manages to make me feel at peace and inspired and I just get lost in the imagery.

Trying to get to be the older brother or the only brother.

I am still pissed the Academy left Corey Haim out of the In Memoriam section of the Oscars.
I don't know what it is but I find this video incredibly intriguing. I love the cheesiness, but at the same time I like how deep Corey is attempting to be...like when you practice interviews in front of the mirror for when you're famous one day. He just seems like such a regular kid here, who doesn't know what he's doing but he wants to be something great. I don't know much about this video, like if it was his idea to make it or if it was encouraged by someone else, but I would like to think that he wanted to create this just incredibly insightful, thought provoking mini documentary about himself. There is also something sad and almost ominous about Corey saying the actor he looks up to is John Ritter. It's sad to watch this kid who really thought and wanted his career to just skyrocket after this. I really wish things would have worked out better for him, but at the same time I am incredibly thankful there will always be the Coreys.

Questlove remix. Duh.

This was so awesome...and so accurate.

Bruno Mars ft. Damian Marley.

Put your hands on me, John F. Kennedy.

So Gaga made her debut as a runway model and had the role of musical director during the Mugler Paris fashion show.
And I'm totally obsessed with Gaga: The Runway Model.
Of course Gaga isn't just going to strut down the runway. She OWNS the runway, hiding behind columns, smoking a cig, rocking shoes that no one else would be able to handle (see the model at the 2:10 mark for proof). AND THOSE PIGTAILS. I looooove the high, pink-tinted ponytail she's been rocking lately and now I absolutely adore these pigtails.
And can I just say that I am IN LOVE with her new song, "Government Hooker". It plays here at the beginning of the show and it is literally AWESOME. That beat will just stay with you. So so perfect for this show.
Greatness all around.

'Till the World Ends.

Brit's new song is leaked and it's actually pretty awesome!
You can tell Ke-dollar sign-ha helped with it.

Nana Boo Boo.

And now a clip from one of the funniest people ever...
This. Is. Awesome.

Never triangle face, I hate triangle face.

YES.
This cast is amazing and Danny McBride looks hilarious in this.

I'm off like a dirty shirt.

Oh, so that's what Duckie's been up to during all of this...
I like Jon Cryer. I also hope that the show continues on (because I want Cryer to have a job) and that they do replace Charlie Sheen, especially since he said he didn't need the show and would just go off to do movies and win oscars (which I personally would like to see that attempt). I also hope they replace Sheen with John Stamos (like the rumors say) or with Christian Slater. Yes, Slater. Chris Franjola mentioned it on Chelsea Lately and I thought it was genius.
It would be sad to see the Cryer/Sheen dynamic broken up only because I loved the fact that they were both seen as someone special through the eyes of the my beloved John Hughes, and that is a sacred league to be in. Since I've already posted Sheen's John Hughes moment, let's take a look back at one of Jon Cryer's great Hughes moments...

I'd say he is winning now.
And let's not forget his Twitter bio: Born Small... Now Huge... Winning... Bring it..! (unemployed winner...)
Follow him at @charliesheen.

What is wrong with the world?

Soooo this happened.
Things are just spiraling out of control. Not only do I hate the fact that someone decided Kim Kardashian should not only contaminate television, twitter, the E! channel, fashion, perfume, and various other products, but that she should also do a freaking song, she sounds like she is beyond bored and just talking her way through a song. I mean really, though, you can't expect anything more. SHE IS NOT A SINGER. Way to go...because when I listen to music I like to here idiots talking and being autotuned, no less. Case in point: Kim Zolciak. Good grief.
The only good thing I can say about this is that the money made off of her single is going to charity. Which is nice. But aren't there other ways to raise money?
I honestly have no idea why people continue to feed into the Kardashian gravy train. It's getting beyond ridiculous. Just shows how idiotic people have become to give the Kardashians more fame, money and attention for literally having no talent but being able to profit off of people's stupidity. Do you know that Kim makes $10,000 a tweet to promote products and companies? RIDIC.
It's just mind-boggling how out of control things can get.

Just finished watching A Single Man. Colin Firth truly is amazing.
This is one of the most beautifully styled films I have seen in a long time. If you don't know, it's about the day a man decides he is going to end his life because things have become too painful after losing the man he truly loved. Tom Ford wrote, produced and directed this film, and this is the first film he has ever worked on...which is truly incredible.
Even though I had a bit of an issue with the content and the way things were executed, I have to say the style of this film is almost perfection.

Boy, watchu lookin' at?

Creepy moustache gets fired for loving another creepy moustache.

Well, well, Dior is officially firing John Galliano.
Basically, the most recent updates with this whole situation are that Natalie Portman released a statement saying she was pissed (as she should be) and he is finally getting fired (as he should be).

Here's Dior's president and chief executive officer's statement from The NY Times:
“I condemn most firmly the statements made by John Galliano which are a total contradiction with the essential values that have always been defended by the House of Christian Dior.”

And here's Natalie's statement:
“I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”

Personally, I've always thought Galliano was creepier than hell. I mean...who is he to judge ANYONE?
